Photos from ROC Archive's post

We have begun our assessment of Rochester's home media collection of film, video and photography with residents in our neighborhoods with support from the 19th Ward Community Association! There is little doubt the #ROC is a diverse and richly, well documented area dating back to a local chemist creating Kodak. With this letter we now invite YOU to help us grow an expansive collection of our regional culture and heritage captured with light. Visit www.rocarchive.org for more information about our collections and digital exhibits or email info@rocarchive.org if you have images you would like to share. ... See more

Friends of Mt. Hope

Let’s go team. Anyone have anything?

One More Time….We need your help!

Dear Facebook Friends,
For several years we at the Friends of Mount Hope have been searching for photos of the interior of the 1862 Old Chapel. Somewhere in Monroe County in some family album there must be a photo of a family funeral service in that building. We are also on the lookout for any person who may have worked in the Old Chapel and has memories of what it looked like in its heyday.

We suspect that funeral services may have ended there in the 1940’s or 50’s, but the crematory may have been operating until the 1970’s. If you have any clues, please contact us at our FOMH website, under “Contact Us.”

This information is very important to us. We need your detective skills!
